Is online dating safe?

Meeting someone at iMatchup.com is very safe because of our anonymous contact system. That means that you can send someone an email, or invite him or her into a chat room without giving him or her any actual personal information, not even your name. If you decide you don't want to have any more contact with someone, simply block him or her from contacting you again. If you like the person, then you can get more personal, or set up an actual date.

You, the community, police iMatchup.com if you see or receive something you consider objectionable, report the user to customer service at info@iMatchup.com and we will review the case and take action if necessary.

How do I meet someone?

Meeting someone at iMatchup.com is easy. First, sign up with a profile by clicking here. If you are already an iMatchup.com member, click here to login. Use the search and Matchups feature, Searching provides you a list of our members profiles based on criteria you specify at the time of the search. Matching, on the other hand, is our two-way process that locates all of the members who match what you are looking for AND narrows that list to those members who are looking for people with a profile like yours. No time wasted browsing profiles that mean nothing to you. Once you find another profile you like, whether they have a nice picture, or you like their description in their profile - send them an email or a flirt. IMPORTANT: Make sure you have a complete profile and post a photograph. Profiles with photos are 8 times more likely to receive a response, and that means its more likely that someone will see your profile and contact you.

What if I don't meet someone I like?

Post a photo. Research shows that profiles with photos are 26 times more likely to receive a response - which means you'll have more chances to meet someone you click with! Completing your profile gives people a better idea of who you are. If you don't let people know anything about you they may not take your profile seriously. Try a new photo. Experiment. Sometimes it is good to change details within your profile, as you will get a new set of responders. Add more detail to your description; the more you let people know about you, the more Matchups you will make.

Why am I not getting any responses?

Want to increase you chances of getting a response? Post a photo. Research shows that profiles with photos are 8 times more like to receive a response. Also, many people have more than one email address. Make sure you're using your registered e-mail address. Make the first contact. Send someone an email, a flirt or invite him or her to a chat session. If none of these solutions work, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.

What is the Matchup Wizard? How can I use it?

Matchup Wizard is a new way to help Premium Members customize their Matchup criteria. To take advantage of Matchup Wizard please follow the instructions stated below:

Login to iMatchup using your login and password.
On the far left of your screen please click on "Matchups".
Please click on the banner located above your first Matchup.
Kat will appear with a list of information that needs to be filled out in your profile before you may continue. Once this is completed click on "Continue".
Your Matchup Criteria will then appear. This is where you are able to customize the importance of the criteria for your search results. You can change this information at any time in order for you to find your perfect Matchup.

How do I post a photo?

Please follow the instructions below on how to upload a picture:
Login to iMatchup.com
On your "MY HOME" page select the photo tab.
Click BROWSE and go to the area on your computer where you have your picture stored, select it, and click OPEN.
To complete the upload, select UPLOAD PHOTO on the bottom of the page.
You may upload up to 5 photographs.
Photos take 2-3 business days for approval.
Photos deemed inappropriate by the iMatchup staff will be deleted.

I don't have a scanner or digital camera, how can I post my photo?

Send the photo to our Photo Processing Department.

What is cropping a photo?

Cropping a photo is done to make the photo fit your profile.

How can I get in the Top 100?

In order to be included in the Top 100 photos you must have a minimum of 200 votes and you must have a completed profile.

I don’t see my additional photos when viewing my profile, where are they?

Your additional photos are not visible to you when viewing your own profile, however these options are available to all other members who view your profile. You can view your additional photos at any time by selecting Photos from your "My Home" page.

How do I delete a photo?

Once you are logged into your account simply select Photos and select delete underneath the photo you wish to have removed.

How do I replace photos?

Once you are logged into your account simply select Photos and select delete underneath the photo you wish to have replaced. When you replace a photo it will again go through our approval process even if it is a photo you have had posted before.

I see someone with my photo!

Please contact us with the username of the member who is using your photo and they will be removed from the site.

I see profiles with the same photo. Why can’t I have another account?

Please contact us with the username of the member who has duplicate profiles and we will have one profile removed from the site as we only allow one profile per member.

Why is my profile being deleted?

As a premium member your profile will be automatically posted, unless of course you are soliciting other members at which point you will be removed permanently from the site. If you haven't yet upgraded you are able to post a profile without personal contact information. If you really want to connect with someone, upgrade now!

How do I change my email address?

Why are areas blocked out of my profile when viewing my own profile?

These areas are not visible to you when viewing your own profile, however these options are available to all other members who view your profile.

Where are my additional photos? Why aren’t they accessible?

Your additional photos not visible to you when viewing your own profile, however these options are available to all other members who view your profile. You can view your additional photos at any time by selecting Photos from your "My Home" page.

What is my photo rating? Why can’t I see my score?

We currently do not offer the ability to view your own score unless you are located in the Top 100.

Why am I not in the Top 100 photos? I have a high score!

In order to be included in the Top 100 photos you must have a minimum of 200 votes and you must have a completed profile.

How do I delete my Who’s Interested area?

We currently do not offer the ability to delete members from your Who's Interested list. They are automatically removed for you every 5 days.

How can I look at a profile and not appear in the Who’s Interested list?

There is no way to hide the fact that you’ve checked out another member’s full profile. If you don't want to appear in their Who's Interested list do not view the full profile, but then you miss out on who they really are.

How do I block another member from looking at my profile?

At this time we do not offer the option to block other members from viewing your profile. However, you may block another member from sending you messages by selecting that members message and selecting Block User. This will only prevent the other member’s message from being delivered to you. They are not notified that they are blocked from contacting you for personal security purposes.

How do I hide/unhide profile?

Once you have logged in under Keeping Track on your profile My Home page select Hide/Unhide My Profile. This will prevent all other members from viewing your full profile as well as contacting you through Flirts and Messages.

How do I access your sister site HotMatchup?

How do I see my additional photos?

Why are there arrows flashing in my profile?

A flashing arrow indicates that you have not completed that portion of your profile. The more complete your profile the more responses you will receive.

How do I use my Black Book?

Your Black Book is an easy way to keep track of your favorite members and friends. To add someone to your Black Book select their message and then select "Add to Black Book". To remove someone from your list, select My Black Book under Keeping Track, check the box beside their name and select "Delete".

What is a video greeting?

Video Greetings are a short introductory to who you are. So smile and show your personality.

Do I need a web camera to do a greeting?

In order to submit a Video Greeting you must have a video camera or Web camera installed on your computer. We do not require sound.

Why was my video rejected?

Videos must be a minimum of 30 seconds in length. As we do not keep a record of rejected videos please ensure that for your video to be posted that you do not include any of the following:

Sexual Acts
Profanity
Profanity Gestures
Clear image
If there is sound that it is recorded properly

How do I record sound to work properly?

Please note when you are uploading your video if you wish to include sound and/or fix the quality of sound you must follow the following steps to insure that your video has the proper sound.

Once you log into the video section and are ready to record your video right click over top of the video screen. From the menu, click on "Settings", then click on the picture of a microphone that is at the bottom of the box. From there select one of the microphone options you would like to use then click on "Close". Now you are ready to begin recording your video.
